Life is full of uncertainties, and no one is 100% sure what tomorrow holds; living and getting to experience each moment to the fullest is essential.
The beauty of photography is that it freezes moments in time and takes us back to specific moments in our lives. Memories fade, even those moments that we hold dear to our hearts start to become vague after some time. Photographs spark powerful emotions, memories and give you a chance to share those moments with the rest of the world. Greg Piper is an award-winning photographer sharing the untold stories of planet earth through photography.
As an ardent lover of nature, Greg is an underwater and nature photographer. He is a skilled diver and tattoo artist. His exemplary artwork has been featured by top media outlets, including Discovery Channel, BBC, Nat Geo, and top publications like Scuba Diving Magazine.
According to Greg, he has been an artist all his life. He had always loved drawing, painting, and creating art from a young age. His first-ever paid art job was airbrushing jackets. This was back in the ’80s. Serving in the US Army, his love for photography blossomed as he got to travel the world. He started documenting his experiences through photography.
Photography is more than a picture; photographs tell stories, inspire, and above all, educate. “There is power in an image,” says Greg. While not all photos bring back good memories, they have helped you grow into the person you are today. One of the earliest scenes Greg documented was the battle of Mogadishu in Somalia. Experiencing the pain and effects of war firsthand, Greg now shares his story through photography. He has also toured various countries, including South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, and Tanzania, where he got to document the African big cats.
Everyone loves a good story, more so if it’s about the unexplored world. Making it his job to quench his audience’s curiosity, Greg brings the wild to his Instagram. He educates you on wildlife and its conservation while showcasing this beautiful yet rarely explored world. His fantastic work is available on his website as well.
Additionally, Greg runs a one-of-a-kind, hands-on photography workshop. He shares his knowledge and experience by combining his passion for photography and educating people on wildlife conservation. The workshop is done in diverse destinations worldwide, including South Africa, Alaska, and more.
His advice is to follow your passion and not let what people say or think of you weigh you down. In pursuit of his passion, Greg took a bold step and is now living his dream. Although he has encountered failures and obstacles along the way, his love for photography is what keeps him going.
Photography helps us experience and share new things. While most of us love to travel, certain things hold us back from exploring the world. With photography, however, people get to experience and explore different places in the comfort of their homes. Greg Piper’s one-of-a-kind masterpieces help us explore the world through his lens.
