Last year, the two words that Little Leaguers long to hear, “Play Ball” were not uttered.
Thankfully, this past Saturday Pleasanton Little League and Jourdanton Little League had hundreds of kids show up in yet-to-be grass-stained uniforms on Opening Day. For the 2021 Little League season, Pleasanton has 30 teams and 349 players and Jourdanton has 18 teams and 250 players.
Little League provides the opportunity for a community to create a local youth baseball built on life lessons, socialization, and sportsmanship that benefits all of the children and the adult volunteers who support those efforts. Lifelong memories and friendships are made by children, families and volunteers.
We encourage the community to get out of the house and come enjoy these fast and fun games with some great future athletes. Get some fresh air, visit with your neighbors and treat yourself to some great food at the concession stands. You do not have to have a child that plays to enjoy a Little League game. It is fun for the whole community. Check out Little League schedules at and Pleasanton plays at 1209 Downey Street, Pleasanton, Texas. Jourdanton plays at the Jourdanton Sports Complex,1101 Champion Drive, Jourdanton, Texas.
