The Lady Sharks ended their 5 game winning streak when they hosted Weeki Wachee on Sept. 21. The Lady Hornets won 3-0.
Earlier this season, NCT took some exciting wins over Lecanto.  NCT head coach Emily Gore shares how her team came from behind to beat Lecanto.
“Lecanto was a great comeback…we were down 0-2 and won in 5! They rely on their experience and we just try to narrow our focus and play point by point,” said Gore.
On Sept. 24, the Lady Sharks participated in the Fivay tournament. A three-game match-up began with Fivay, then proceeded with Ancolote and Sickles. The girls didn’t take home any wins, but the experience was a big plus.
“The tournaments are a great way to see the competition. That can make you better. It is also 7 matches in 2 days and can be a lot of fun for the team,” explained Gore.
Gore says the team continues to work towards consistency.
“We are trying to strive for consistent play and sometimes that is affected by focus, communication, and playing disciplined (doing the little things that help a team win).”
The Lady Sharks travel to Springstead home court on Tuesday, October 5th.  They play Hernando on 10/6 at home and then Anclote on 10/7, away.  As of 9/28, their record is 10-6.
