The Assembly presents seven debutantes at 98th Annual Ball – Greenville Journal

The Assembly, a women’s social club founded in 1923, presented seven young women at its 98th Annual Ball on Saturday, Nov. 20 at The Poinsett Club.  

Susan Elizabeth Williams Allison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McWilliams Allison, was presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Talmadge Perdue of Columbia, South Carolina and the late Dr. and Mrs. Harold McWilliams Allison of Greenville. Her grandmother, the late Mrs. Harold McWilliams Allison and her great-great grandmother, Mrs. William Edgeworth Beattie were both charter members of The Assembly. Miss Allison, a graduate student at Colorado State, was escorted by Mr. Joshua Charles Darling of Greenville. 

Mary Page Arrington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Battle Arrington III, was presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Dr. Carol Regina Graham of Franklin, Tennessee and the late Mr. Jackie Christian Bissinger, formerly of Huntsville, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Battle Arrington Jr. of Greenville. Mrs. Nelson Battle Arrington Jr. is a member of The Assembly. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Nelson Battle Arrington, was a member of The Assembly, and her great-great-grandmother, the late Mrs. John White Arrington, was a charter member of The Assembly. Miss Arrington, a graduate of Mercer University, was escorted by Mr. Andrew Newell Allen of Simpsonville. 

Marion Caroline Crawford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins Crawford Jr. was presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Porter Brawley Rose of Greenville and Mrs. William Perkins Crawford Sr. and the late Mr. Crawford, both of Cuthbert, Georgia. Mrs. Marion Porter Brawley Rose is a member of The Assembly. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Brawley Rose was a member of The Assembly and her great-great grandmother, the late Mrs. Marion Porter Brawley, was a charter member of The Assembly. Miss Crawford, a graduate student at University of Virginia, was escorted by Mr. Kirby Phillips Bragg of Huntersville, North Carolina. 

Ellen Burruss Kilby, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. William Thomas Kilby III, was presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Kilby II of Greenville and the late Honorable Harry John Haynsworth III and the late Mrs. Richard Benton Osborne Jr. both of Greenville. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Clement Furman Haynsworth and her great-great grandmother, the late Mrs. Harry John Haynsworth were both charter members of The Assembly. Miss Kilby, a graduate of Florida State University, was escorted by Mr. William Talley Moorman Jr. of Columbia. 

Lauren Olivia Lipscomb, daughter of Mr. William Samuel Langley II and Ms. Drayton Earle Lipscomb, was presented by her aunt, Mrs. James Edward Lipscomb IV. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Patricia Nelson Earle and the late Mr. James Edward Lipscomb III, both of Greenville and Mr. and Mrs. William Langley of Pelzer. Her great-great-grandmother, Mrs. Wilton Haynsworth Earle was a charter member of The Assembly. Miss Lipscomb, a student at University of South Carolina, was escorted by Mr. Lawson Stewart Spinks of Greenville.  

Caroline Carswell McCall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Michael McCall, was presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Gregory II of Lancaster, South Carolina and Mrs. Pamela Glover McCall of Greenville, who is a member of The Assembly. Miss McCall, a student at Clemson University, was escorted by Mr. Jonathan Tyler Wilson of Fountain Inn. 

Allison Paige Templeton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clark Templeton, was presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. David Gatling Traxler Jr. and the late Mr. Traxler Jr. both of Greenville, Mrs. Clark Templeton and the late Mr. Clark Templeton, both of Simpsonville, South Carolina. Mrs. David Gatling Traxler Jr. is a member of The Assembly. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. David Gatling Traxler was a member of The Assembly. Miss Templeton, a student at Clemson University, was escorted by Mr. John Loftin Johnson of Greenville.
